Overview
Amylin, also known as islet amyloid polypeptide (IAPP), is a 37-residue peptide hormone co-secreted with insulin from pancreatic β-cells at an approximate ratio of 1:100. It functions synergistically with insulin to regulate postprandial blood glucose levels by slowing gastric emptying, promoting satiety, and suppressing glucagon secretion.
Key Features
- Properly formed Cys2-Cys7 intramolecular disulfide bond
- Human, rat, and feline species variants available
- C-terminal amidated forms offered
- Fragment peptides including (8-37) and (20-29) regions
