Cerebellin

Overview

Cerebellin (CER) is a neuromodulatory hexadecapeptide derived from the precursor protein precerebellin (Cbln1), first isolated from rat cerebellum in 1984. It regulates synaptic structure formation in the central nervous system and exerts significant secretagogue effects on both the cortex and medulla of human adrenal glands, stimulating catecholamine release via the adenylate cyclase/protein kinase A signaling pathway.
