CKS-17
Overview
CKS-17 is a synthetic heptadecapeptide homologous to a highly conserved region of the immunosuppressive retroviral transmembrane envelope protein p15E. It suppresses a variety of immune functions, dysregulates cytokine expression, and elevates intracellular cAMP levels. The peptide features a C-terminal cysteine that enables dimerization through disulfide linkage, which is present in naturally occurring CKS-17-based retroviral peptides.
