Overview

Dendroaspis natriuretic peptide (DNP) is a 38-residue peptide and a member of the natriuretic peptide family. Originally isolated from the venom of the green mamba (Dendroaspis angusticeps), DNP shares structural and biological properties with atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP), brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), and C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP). It acts as a potent vasodilator to lower blood pressure.
