Hemokinin Peptides

Overview

Hemokinin-1 (HK-1) is a tachykinin peptide and member of the mammalian tachykinin family. It is unique among tachykinins in being predominantly expressed in peripheral blood cells rather than the nervous system. As a neurokinin-1 (NK-1) receptor agonist, HK-1 participates in diverse physiological functions including immune regulation, respiratory function, endocrine signaling, tumor biology, and pain and inflammation modulation.
