Overview

Hylambatin is a dodecapeptide tachykinin isolated from the skin of the African frog (Kassina species). It is notable as the first tachykinin identified with a methionyl-methionine residue at the C-terminus. Hylambatin has demonstrated the ability to increase plasma glucose and insulin levels, positioning it as a research tool in metabolic and diabetes studies.
