Intermedin (IMD)

Overview

Intermedin (IMD) is a novel peptide belonging to the calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) superfamily, sharing structural features with adrenomedullin (AM) and CGRP. It is expressed in multiple tissues including the heart, kidney, and brain. Active C-terminal fragments IMD(1-53), IMD(1-47), and IMD(8-47) are widely used in cardiovascular and neuroendocrine research.
