Kassinins

Overview

Kassinins are tachykinin-family neuropeptides derived from the Kassina frog (Kassina senegalensis). They are secreted as part of the amphibian defense response and participate in neuropeptide signaling. Kassinin is particularly effective at contracting smooth muscle tissue and stimulating the micturition reflex, providing a valuable model for tachykinin receptor subtype selectivity studies.
