Kinetensin

Overview

Kinetensin is a neurotensin-like nanopeptide originally isolated from pepsin-treated human plasma. It induces histamine release from peritoneal mast cells and increases vascular permeability in vivo. While structurally related to neurotensin, kinetensin exhibits distinct pharmacological properties, making it a useful comparative tool for studying neurotensin receptor biology.
