Neoendorphin

Overview

Neoendorphins are a group of endogenous opioid peptides derived from the proteolytic cleavage of prodynorphin. The two principal forms, α-neoendorphin (Tyr-Gly-Gly-Phe-Leu-Arg-Lys-Tyr-Pro-Lys) and β-neoendorphin (Tyr-Gly-Gly-Phe-Leu-Arg-Lys-Tyr-Pro), are products of the dynorphin gene and bind preferentially to κ-opioid receptors, contributing to pain modulation and stress responses.
