Neuroendocrine Regulatory Peptide (NERP)

Overview

Neuroendocrine Regulatory Peptides (NERPs) are novel hypothalamic peptides involved in the control of body fluid homeostasis through regulation of vasopressin release. NERPs are localized in storage granules of paraventricular and supraoptic nuclei in the hypothalamus and suppress hypertonic saline- or angiotensin II-induced vasopressin release from the hypothalamus and pituitary.
